Editor's note: This Blog is being posted as a Special Alert on Wednesday, August 4th. For those of you who subscribe to The AFA blog via email, you will first be seeing this alert in your in boxes on Thursday, August 5th. We will be posting updates live via Facebook and Twitter all day today (the 4th) and will recap the story tomorrow (the 5th)
This
afternoon, the federal district court of San Francisco will issue Judge Walker’s
ruling on the legality of Proposition 8. The American Foundation for Equal
Rights (AFER), the group sponsoring the lawsuit, has organized a rally featuring
the plaintiffs in the case, local parents and a gathering of our beautiful
families here in L.A. at West Hollywood Park.
Regardless
of the outcome, this ruling will mark a significant moment for our families. The
eyes and ears of the nation will be focused on us immediately following the
court’s decision, and we will have a tremendous opportunity to showcase our
families and help dispel some of the odious myths propagated about us by our
opponents.
We
are looking for as many of our families as possible (including the kids) to be
in the audience, so please attend if you can!
