Let's make sure we mention VITRIFICATION when we talk about egg freezing. Vitrification offers much better thaw results than the old method of slow freezing, up to 95% thaw rate. Vitrification does not require expensive equipment, and it's not difficult to learn. It's been around for years, and all the doctors know that it is better. I am shocked that more clinics haven't switched over to vitrification. Why? There's really no excuse to continue using slow freeze. As patients I think we need to demand it.

Looking forward to part 2. I'm finding at Prospective Families that registered donors are more and more inquiring about egg freezing both as a donation option as well as for fertility preservation. Thanks, Dr. Licciardi
