It's official, I can't go out anymore on Friday nights. I have become hopelessly addicted to Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, a new TV show on WABC. If you haven't seen it yet, watch it this week. You will absolutely feel inspired to acquire healthier eating habits not only for yourself, but for your kids, and future kids as well.
This show is amazing. Jamie Oliver, aka the Naked Chef, first took England, and then the world by storm years ago with his original television cooking show. I used to watch it all the time not just because of the recipes but because he is, well, really really cute. I mean achingly adorable. I kept hoping that one of these days he really would show up on air naked. Oh well. Hope springs eternal.
And then of course there was the fact that he and his wife Jools were undergoing infertility treatment, because of Jools' PCOS. Jools is living, beautiful proof that PCOS does not automatically equal overweight.
Jamie and Jools went on to have two adorable little girls. And here it is years later and he has left them temporarily to come to our shores and help us revamp the school cafeterias of America one school district at a time. And he has started with the fattest place on earth, Huntington, West Virginia.
Jamie's commitment is about teaching people how to be enthusiastically passionate about their food and their health. His meals are not only infused with the best ingredients that will keep you heart disease free, but also with joy. To listen to him talk about food, or watch him cook, is like seeing Carlos Santana play music. He is amazing, filled with life and gusto. Yes people, I'm majorly crushing.
But listen, he is also right. Obesity is the most chronic health problem in this country and it doesn't have to be; go to a typical theme park in Anytown U.S.A. and you will see scores of overweight people riding around in motorized wheel chairs because they don't have the strength to walk. It's sad, and a shame.
And of course for women who are experiencing infertility, obesity can have adverse effects on treatment, according to ASRM. In addition, women who are overweight run greater risks for complications during pregnancy and even birth defects. Scores of studies back up these findings, as reported in Obesity and reproduction: an educational bulletin published by the Practice Committee of ASRM. This is not an issue to be taken lightly by women who are TTC.
But back to the cutie, I mean to Jamie. Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution is more motivating than any meeting of Weight Watchers you will ever attend. Watch it. You will experience food in a whole new way. If you can't wait until Friday night, click here to get some great Naked Chef classics on video:

Happy Eating!
I always watch Jamie Oliver and He has a lot of concern about the food of the children how natural it is or fatty,...And sometimes I try the recipe that I watched and the dish is really yummy.
